Fargerommet
2020–ongoing · photography, video, light
Fargerommet is an ongoing photographic study of how light alters the way a body becomes visible in space. Working with coloured light, diffusion and shadow, I treat the body less as a portrait subject than as a surface through which perception can be tested.
The images move between recognition and abstraction. A hand, a silhouette or a curve may briefly establish a body before dissolving again into colour, haze or darkness. I am interested in this unstable moment: when we are still able to locate a human presence, but can no longer be certain where the body ends and the surrounding space begins.
The project grew from repeated experiments with changing light conditions, focus and distance. Rather than using colour to illustrate particular emotions, I approach light as something that actively structures perception—something that can reveal, obscure, orient and disorient.
